Gall Stones (Cholelithiasis)

Gallstones are clumps of crystallized cholesterol or some pigments in the gallbladder. This condition is fairly common (affects 11% of general population) women are twice as likely as men to develop gallstones. (Medical dictum for Gallstones is: It’s a disease of fat female of forty).

Gallbladder is a small sac situated just under the liver and it produces bile juice that is essential for proper digestion of fats. The bile juice mainly contains cholesterol, water, bile salts and a pigment called Bilirubin. When the proportion of these contents is altered in the bile juice, gallstones start forming.

Types of Gallstones:

There are two basic types of gallstones:

  • Cholesterol gallstones: Made up of cholesterol (accounting for about 80% of cases)
  • Pigment stones: Made up of the pigment Bilirubin

Factors contributing to development of gallstones

  • Obesity
  • It’s twice as common in females as compared to males
  • People over age of 60 years are at higher risk
  • Fasting, diabetes, rapid weight loss can also lead to formation of gallstones in some cases

Many patients having gallstones may not have any complaint. However, some may experience pain in the upper abdomen radiating to the back. The pain may last up to 2-6 hours.

All the factors that form stone are present in the bile under normal circumstances; however, they are in a dissolved state. If there is increase in concentration of cholesterol or pigments, they crystallize and precipitate out as stones. Factors such as increasing age, pregnancy, obesity, liver disorders, infections can have impact on development of gallstones. Some studies suggest that genetics and heredity factors are at the root of this condition that makes one prone to have gallstones.

Suggestion about homeopathic treatment:

When the stones are of a smaller size, homeopathic medicines will help in possibly reduce the size of the stones. Homeopathy medicines are effective in alleviating pain as well as chronic inflammation of gallbladder (cholecystitis) associated with the condition. Homeopathy also helps to control further stone production activity. It the stones are bigger, multiple and impacted, it may require surgical intervention.

Vitiligo

“Vitiligo is not a serious disease,” as we are treating it with great sucess. Dr.Manisha’s clinic has a unique experience in treating vitiligo patients, all skin types and genetic patterns.

Homeopathy can cure mild and early cases of vitiligo. Homeopathy can control large and rapidly growing cases of vitiligo. Homeopathy cannot cure extensive cases and those who have some difficult areas such as fingertips, lips (mucocutaneous junctions) affected with vitiligo.

Homeopathy medicines have brought new hope for many patients of vitiligo in the world. Of course, as defined clearly, we cannot cure all cases, due to the very nature of this disease; but can help control most of the cases.

Urticaria

Around twenty percent people in the world suffer with urticaria or hives at least once in life time.

Short lasting or acute urticaria is not a big deal to treat. One may take no medicine or some minor anti-allergic medicine and urticaria would settle.

Urticaria throws a challenge when it keeps recurring again and again for days, months and years; it is called chronic urticaria. Chronic urticaria needs to be understood beyond its treatment by using some anti-histamine medicines. This is because, those medicines would help urticaria but for a short time. One may have to consume anti-histamines such as Allegra, Cetirizine or like, for years or for life.
In our practice at Dr.Manisha’s clinic, we have seen hundreds of patients with chronic urticaria who keep consuming anti-histamines for over ten years; and they cannot skip if for even a day.

This is where homeopathy comes to rescue.

Homeopathy addresses chronic urticaria as an internal, immunological disorder requiring treatment by addressing the internal factors.

With strategies, research proven treatment, we have been able to treat cases of Urticaria with great success.

Please note, urticaria can be treated without life-long use of any chemical based medicines.

Hypothyroidism

Underactive thyroid or hypothyroid is becoming increasingly common among females in the age group of 20 to 50. This is a condition where thyroid gland does not secrete adequate quantity of Thyroxin hormones, namely T3 and T4. As a result another hormone, TSH becomes more in quantity, since it has to word harder to stimulate T3 and T4.

The symptoms of Underactive thyroid are:

1. Weight gain

2. Swelling and puffiness of face and hands

3. Low energy, tired feeling

4. Hairloss, thinning of hair

5. Irritability, mood swings

The easiest way to treat Underactive thyroid is by supplementing with external supply of thyroid hormone. However, this is not an ideal method, as it amounts to lifelong intake of the artificial Hormone from outside.

Instead, in homeopathy, the concept works on administering the medicines which can stimulate lazy thyroid gland, so that it produces required quantity of hormones.

We have observed success in stimulating thyroid gland using homeopathic medicines, especially some of the new research based medicines at Dr.Manisha’s; which works in many cases if not all.

We have observed that those patients are recently detected and are not on thyroid supplement for more than two years, may respond to homeopathy.

Constant monitoring thyroid levels helps to determine the success with the medicines.

Tonsillitis

Frequent attacks of Tonsillitis suggest low immunity, whereby the tonsils are getting inflamed as a part of defense mechanism. The do not need to be removed.

There is an excellent treatment in homeopathic which can significantly help

Frequent Tonsillitis and the tonsils can be saved. Please do not take a hurried step to get your child’s tonsils removed without checking homeopathic treatment.

What to expect from homeopathic treatment?

  • Reduction in attacks of Tonsillitis
  • Avoidance of surgical removal of Tonsils may become possible in over 70% cases
  • Reduction in severity of attack of Tonsillitis
  • Reduced attack of frequent colds, cough, ear infections, sinusitis, asthma
  • Better immunity, better appetite and weight gain if child is underweight
  • Reduced need for antibiotics

What is the duration of treatment?

Most patients show remarkable improvement in about six months. Most children who may have been suggested surgery, would reach to the stage whereby surgery may no more be suggested by the ENT surgeon, in about six to ten months.

The homeopathic treatment is essentially targeted towards enhancing the immunity and hence reducing the recurrence of tonsil infections. This is achieved very easily using safe and effective homeopathic medicines.

At Dr.Manisha’s we are treating hundreds of cases of enlarged tonsils with best results and with best success rate.

Sore Throat

When a person experiences 6 or more episodes of sore throat in a year, each requiring medical assistance, it can be termed as recurrent sore throat. These episodes occur in patients whose body immunity lowers, making the patient more susceptible to bacterial infection in the throat. It is important to treat this condition otherwise it can lead to the following three complications :

  • Chronic Tonsillitis : In case of chronic tonsillitis, the tonsils themselves begin to harbor the infection, which temporarily resolves with immediate treatment.
  • Chronic Adenoid Infection & Adenoid Enlargement: Adenoid enlargement is more dangerous than tonsillar enlargement, especially if uncontrolled.
  • Peritonsillar Abscess : This is the collection of pus between the infected tonsils and the walls of the upper pharynx forming an abscess leading to increasing pain.

Laryngitis – The Singer’s Disease

When a person experiences 6 or more episodes of sore throat in a year, each requiring medical assistance, it can be termed as recurrent sore throat. These episodes occur in patients whose body immunity lowers, making the patient more susceptible to bacterial infection in the throat. It is important to treat this condition otherwise it can lead to the following three complications :

  • Chronic Tonsillitis: In case of chronic tonsillitis, the tonsils themselves begin to harbor the infection, which temporarily resolves with immediate treatment.
  • Chronic Adenoid Infection & Adenoid Enlargement : Adenoid enlargement is more dangerous than tonsillar enlargement, especially if uncontrolled.
  • Peritonsillar Abscess: This is the collection of pus between the infected tonsils and the walls of the upper pharynx forming an abscess leading to increasing pain.

Sinusitis

Sinuses are cavities located in the skull bones. The human body has 4 sinuses. Inflammation of these, most commonly due to infection, is sinusitis. Sinusitis can be of Two Types:

  • Acute: Which Lasts For 3 Weeks Or Less.
  • Chronic: Which persists beyond 3 weeks, continues for months or years and has acute severe episodes in between? This is the most trouble some form of sinusitis. It is mostly allergic in nature and is seen together with other allergic conditions like allergic rhinitis and asthma.

Symptoms of Sinusitis

  • The most common symptom is pain in the head particularly one – sided.
  • Pain in the forehead, above the eyebrows.
  • In the cheekbones, on either side of the nose. In severe cases, your upper jaw and teeth may ache.
  • Between the eyes along with swelling of the eyelids and tissues around your eye. Sometimes, the site of your nose may feel tender to touch. A loss of smell and a stuffy nose are other accompanying symptoms.
  • Deep ache located at the top of the head along with ear ache and neck pain.

Symptoms of Chronic Sinusitis

  • Persistent Daily Headaches : Post nasal drip, this is a condition in which the excess mucus passes out of the sinus and travels through the back of the nose and keeps dripping onto the throat, makes the patient want to constantly clear throat and in severe cases also leads to bad breath, chronic cough & nocturnal asthma.
  • Stuffed nose
  • Decreased sense of smell or loss of smell and taste
  • Tooth ache
  • Tiredness, lack of concentration, low productivity

Sleeplessness (Insomnia)

Sleep is a great gift to our body. Sleep is a time where body rests, physically and mentally; which is required for the rejuvenation.

Sleeplessness or insomnia results from disturbance at physical and or mental plane. It is more of the disturbance at the level of mind and emotions, which activate the brain in such as way that one tends to have either delayed, sleep, interrupted sleep or unrefracting sleep. Without at least six hours of sound sleep, body and mind may end up feeling fatigue, the next day.

Sleeping pills are popular short cuts to inducing sleep. However, there are problems with sleeping pills:

1. They are habit forming

2. They are chemical based

3. They are superficial

4. They are short lasting, required to be used daily

Is there an alternative to chemical based sleeping pills?

Yes, of course. Here are excellent medicines in homeopathy to help one have natural sleep. However, the homeopathic medicines are not sleeping pills, that is, they do no induce sleep. Homeopathic medicines help your body to have a natural sleep pattern, they improve quality of sleep and thus stop you dependency on sleeping pills.

If you are already on some sleeping pills, you may start with homeopathy and slowly reduce your intake of sleeping pills.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is an internal, immunological disease requiring internal homeopathic medicines.

All your attempts made so far in treating psoriasis by applying external cream or lotions, would amount to treating it by considering it as an external or superficial disease. Actually, psoriasis is an internal disease and has to be treated as such.

Traditionally, your local dermatologist would prescribe to you some form of cortisone cream or propysalic or tacrolimus lotion or oral cortisone tablets or in severe cases, Methotrexate.

If you are a fresh case of psoriasis, you wouldn’t much bother to understand about the content of the lotions. However, once you become an old case of psoriasis, after six month or two years, you will know that all those medicines worked but for a very short time, only to return on stopping them. Most importantly, their continuous use leads to dependency on the medicine.
We have observed a large number cases of psoriasis at Dr.Manisha’s, that homeopathy works for most of the cases, to take them into remission (disease free period). And very safely.

Prostatitis (Benign Prostate)

Prostate is such an organ which when gets infected the regular medicines do not reach it effectively.

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate. Recurrent prostatitis is a common condition and of course, difficulty to treat.

Prostate enlargement can be benign or cancerous. BPH or benign prostate hypertrophy is a condition where the prostate gets enlarged, swollen and hypertrophied. Due to its increasing size and weight, the patient experiences increased frequently of urination, dribbling of urine and some strain while passing urine.

Prostate enlargement can be due to Cancer of the prostate. A blood test by the name PSA (prostate specific antigen) can help detect the cancer of prostate.

Benign Prostate Hypertrophy can be helped to some extent-using homeopathy, especially in the early stages. If the prostate size is very large, weight of prostate increased (found in ultrasound) and residual urine much more after passing urine; in those cases, surgery may be considered. Homeopathy may not help adequately.

In case of recurring prostate inflammation (prostatitis) homeopathy offers encouraging results. Often, antibiotics do not work so well for this infection. We have observed results using homeopathy. Homeopathy is suggested to cases of recurring and chronic prostatitis.

Migraine

Headache of all kinds respond well to homeopathy, especially the chronic and recurring ones.

Migraine headache often vascular in origin, resulting from congested veins in the head. There are other forms of headaches such as tension headache and non-specific headaches.

The typical symptoms of migraine are recurring headache, any side of the head, usually one-sided, with sensitivity to light, with nausea or at times with vomiting, no desire to eat, etc.

One has to compare it with and rule out similar headache, which may be due to sinusitis.

Patients with migraine often keep popping in pain-killer medicines every now and then, without realizing that they are habit forming besides having adverse effects.

The patients who have recurring headaches must know that homeopathy is an option they cannot ignore.

At Dr.Manisha’s, we have worked on a large number of cases of chronic headaches and have documented significant results.

The homeopathic medicines for migraine are selected on the basis of the type of the headache, its cause, the personality of the patients and the factors, which trigger headache.

Nephrotic Syndrome (Proteinuria)

Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney disease where there is an abnormal or extra release of proteins (what is called as protein leakage) passed in urine. As a result there is constant depletion of proteins in the body. This disease is causes by immunological factors. Certain ordinary infections such as cold, that infection could trigger an episode of Nephrotic syndrome

Children are often affected by this disease, as early as in the first year of life. The disease tends to last for many years, over ten years in most cases.

Conventionally, the doctors use Cortisone and then Cyclophosphamide; both are powerful, immunosuppressive medicines. These medicines help but they also produce dependency besides giving severe adverse reactions in the body.

Homeopathy plays a significant supportive role in the treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome. It helps to reduce the frequency of attacks, reduce the duration of episodes, lessen the severity of the disease and also reduce the need for immunosuppressive medicines. Besides, and more importantly, we have observed that homeopathy helps to reduce or even stop dependency on cortisone in many cases.

Homeopathy is very strongly recommended during all stages of Nephrotic Syndrome. During acute state of severe protein leak, homeopathy may or may not help much, especially if there is a recent history of the use of immunosuppressive medicines.

However, slowly, once we prepare the patient’s immune system using homeopathy, there are good chances that the need for cortisone in future reduces. Of course, cortisone dependent Nephrotic Syndrome is very difficult to treat.

Hair Loss

Hair loss matters a lot to people in all age groups, as it has to do with the look and self-confidence.

Hair loss over 40 to 50 strands a day may require medical attention. Hair thinning also calls for medical evaluation and treatment.

The most common reasons why people have hair loss include 1. Genetic factors. 2. Hormonal cause, especially low levels of Thyroid hormone 3. Stress 4. Nutritional deficiencies 5. Use of some medicines 6. Use of colors, dye and chemicals on scalp 7. Auto-immuneconditions.

There are three major conditions related to hair loss the results for each of them are difference:

1. Simple hair loss: Which can be treated with great success

2. Alopecia areata is a patchy hair loss, which can be treated with success.
3. Male Pattern Baldness, which cannot be treated, but could be controlled to some extent.

Homeopathy works beautifully in the cases of Hair loss and Alopecia areata. Homeopathy (no other system, for that matter) does not work for the cases of Male pattern baldness.

At Dr.Manisha’s research proven medicines work wonders for the cases of hair loss and alopecia areata.

Frequent/Recurrent Colds

It is normal for one to suffer with a bout of cold once in a while; which may not require much treatment. However, if one suffers with it once every month or 25 days in a month, either due to allergies, infection or pollen, it definitely calls for strategic treatment.

Most children and adults take leaves from school or work due to colds. The conventional treatment entails use of anti-histamine, anti-pain, antibiotics, which help symptomatically, but they do not prevent the recurrence.

Is there anything that can prevent frequent recurrence of colds?

Yes, homeopathy can significantly reduce frequency, intensity and severity of colds. It is proven. And, it can do it without producing any side effects.

Homeopathic medicines, especially Dr.Manisha’s research based medicines have been documented having proved efficacy for frequent colds. They enhance body’s immunity making them less sensitive to changes in climate and resistant to infections.

Children as well adults can be benefited undoubtedly using homeopathy.

Besides frequent colds, homeopathy is also highly recommended due to its marvelous results, for the treatment of frequent sinusitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, ear infections, bronchitis and asthma.

If you have one of the above diseases, you have to explore homeopathy as an option for your treatment. It can change your life.

Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Atopic dermatitis or Eczema can affect babies as well as adults in any age group. Atopic means allergic; this disease is largely allergic in nature. The allergy is nothing but over-sensitivity to either external or internal factors. This sensitivity is governed by immune systems and genetic tendencies.

Having understood that, atopic dermatitis or eczema must be treated at the level of internal immunological level.

When you apply cortisone or any such immunosuppressive cream or lotion, you are actually not curing the internal disease but merely suppressing it, superficially.

Homeopathy approaches atopic dermatitis or eczema by addressing the internal, root of the diseases so the results are long lasting.

At Dr.Manisha’s, we use conventional homeopathic medicines, which produce excellent results. The medicines are highly effective yet safe.

Convention skin doctors would prescribe you cortisone or such creams because many of them do not know that homeopathy works much better, at a deeper level.

At Dr.Manisha’s, we have treated all kind of skin allergies including eczema, atopic dermatitis in patients from all across the world. The results are great!

Cervical Spondylitis

Cervical Spondylitis and related cases of neck-pain or stiff neck is a common problem especially after increasing use of computers and mobile phones.

The symptoms include pain in the neck, shoulders and the pain could be radiating down to shoulders, forearms, palms and fingers. There may be associated numbness and tingling of hands and fingers due to nerve compression. The pain may be aching in nature, may be continuous or intermittent.

Your conventional doctor is likely to prescribe some pain-killers to give relief in pain. There is nothing, apparently, wrong in using pain killers. However, the problems with the pain killers are:

a. They work for a short time

b. They are habit forming

c. They have adverse effects such gastritis, bad effects on kidneys and liver

So how do you manage Cervical Spondylitis? Well, homeopathy is an option worth considering for all cases of Cervical Spondylitis, for the following reasons:

a. They give good pain relief in neck pain and stiff neck

b. They work as anti-spasmodic

c. They give lasting relief in pain and numbness

d. Free from any adverse effects

e. Not habit forming The homeopathic approach is a holistic way to address cervical spondylitis, relief muscle spasm and reduce anxiety.

Physiotherapy or neck exercises form important part of the treatment. Every patient must learn basic neck exercise and do it at least three times a day for about 5 to 15 minutes. Such exercises may be done at the work place as well.

Asthma

According to the world health organization, between 100 & 150 million people around the globe, roughly the equivalent of the population of the Russian federation, suffer from asthma. Worldwide, deaths from this condition have reached over 2 lacks per annually. Asthma is derived from the ancient Greek word ‘azein’, which means to “breathe hard”. During normal breathing, the bands of muscle that surround the airways are relieved and air moves freely.

Is it not slightly absurd to see that children with Asthma have to inhale Cortisone sprays instead of breathing Oxygen? Well, the parents get used to this sight so much that they never thought of an alternative.

There is an alternative. Homeopathy works to drastically reduce the attacks of asthma and

dependency on cortisone.

At Dr.Manisha’s, we have documented a large number of cases of asthma in children (as well as adults), where patients have been significantly relieved of breathless episodes of wheeze or asthma, bouts of cough and shortness of breath. It is a common experience of homeopathic professionals world over.

Interestingly, at Dr.Manisha’s, many pediatricians (conventional child specialist doctors) bring their own children for homeopathic treatment for asthma; as they know that homeopathy works.

The homeopathic medicines for asthma are effective yet safe. The frequently of attacks reduce, they become much less severe, and the duration reduces. And, more importantly, the dependency of chemical based medicines such as cortisone, bronchodilators and antibiotics reduce so much that children (and adults) do not need to consume so much of those potentially harmful medicines; except for critical phases.

As a parent or as a patient of asthma, you need to bring asthma under homeopathic radar; to so that your child or you could breathe easier.

Ankylosing Spondylitis

Ankylosing Spondylitis affects more of young male adults, especially from age year 20 to 40.

Painfulness of the joints of neck and back, sometimes also knees and hips; with stiffness, reduced mobility and increasing restriction in day to day activities are major symptoms.

Blood reports will show HLA-B27 positive, to confirm the diagnosis of this life-limiting disease.

As a patient or a family member of the patient with Ankylosing Spondylitis, one has to know of the role and scope of homeopathy.

Homeopathy treatment can be expected to produce following results in most cases:

  • Significant relief in pain and stiffness
  • Improving mobility
  • Control of the disease
  • Reduce dependency on pain-killers

“Most important contribution in the cases of Ankylosing Spondylitis is the disease control, so that it does not deteriorate so much over the period of next five to twenty years,” says Dr.Manisha’s based on his experience with over hundreds of cases of Ankylosing Spondylitis at Dr.Manisha’s.

Research based new homeopathic medicines have changed the results in the cases of Ankylosing Spondylitis at Dr.Manisha’s.

Homeopathic medicines, of course, can safely be taken along with the conventional medicines. The experience says that it becomes possible in many cases to reduce the need for the conventional medicines.

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia areata is a patchy hair loss on the scalp, face or any hairy part of the body. There can be one or many, small or large patches without hair.

Alopecia areata can happen due to inner, auto-immune disease which leads to destruction of the roots of the hair follicle. This is often related with associated auto-immune diseases such as Underactive thyroid, vitiligo, and diabetes.

All the patients with alopecia areata must be investigated for underactive thyroid through a simple blood test.

We have observed that alopecia areata if treated by injecting cortisone on the affected spots may give temporary relief and the patches may lose hair again at the same place or elsewhere.

Homeopathy works wonderfully for all the cases of alopecia areata. Homeopathy does not work if there is scarring on the affected areas.

Homeopathy addresses underlying autoimmune disease process while treating Alopecia Areata so the results are long lasting and of course, the treatment is free from any adverse effects.

At Dr.Manisha’s, we have documented a large number of alopecia areata cases from all across India.

Arthritis

Typically, pain, aching, stiffness and swelling in and around one or more joints characterize rheumatic conditions. The symptoms can develop gradually or suddenly. Certain rheumatic conditions can also involve the immune system and various internal organs of the body.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) also known as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease, is a group of mechanical abnormalities involving degradation of joints, including articular cartilage and subchondral bone. Symptoms may include joint pain, tenderness, stiffness, locking, and sometimes an effusion. A variety of causes—hereditary, developmental, metabolic, and mechanical—may initiate processes leading to loss of cartilage. When bone surfaces become less well protected by cartilage, bone may be exposed and damaged. As a result of decreased movement secondary to pain, regional muscles may atrophy, and ligaments may become more lax.

A large number of cases of osteoarthritis have no known cause and are termed as ‘Primary osteoarthritis’. When the condition occurs due to a known cause, it is referred to as ‘Secondary osteoarthritis’.

Rhematoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that may affect many tissues and organs, but principally attacks synovial joints. The process produces an inflammatory response of the synovium (synovitis) secondary to hyperplasia of synovial cells, excess synovial fluid, and the development of pannus in the synovium. The pathology of the disease process often leads to the destruction of articular cartilage and ankylosis of the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis can also produce diffuse inflammation in the lungs, pericardium, pleura, and sclera, and also nodular lesions, most common in subcutaneous tissue. Although the cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown, autoimmunity plays a pivotal role in both its chronicity and progression, and RA is considered a systemic autoimmune disease.

About 1% of the world’s population is afflicted by rheumatoid arthritis, women three times more often than men. Onset is most frequent between the ages of 40 and 50, but people of any age can be affected. It can be a disabling and painful condition, which can lead to substantial loss of functioning and mobility if not adequately treated. It is a clinical diagnosis made on the basis of symptoms, physical exam, radiographs (X-rays) and labs.

As the pathology progresses the inflammatory activity leads to tendon tethering and erosion and destruction of the joint surface, which impairs range of movement and leads to deformity. The fingers may suffer from almost any deformity depending on which joints are most involved,Specific deformities, such as ulnar deviation, boutonniere deformity, swan neck deformity etc.

Gout

Gout is a painful type of arthritis that causes sudden, severe attacks of pain, tenderness, redness, warmth, and swelling in the joints, especially the big toe. The pain and swelling associated with gout are caused by uric acid crystals that precipitate out of the blood and are deposited in the joint.

Adenoids

The adenoid is a single mass of tissue located way in the back of the nose in the passage that connects the nasal cavity to the throat. Although most people say “adenoids” as if there is more than one, we really have just one adenoid.

Allergic Rhinitis

Allergic Rhinitis is an allergic reaction in the linings of the nose and sinuses. It means inflammation or swelling. ‘Rhino’ means nose and ‘allergic’ means hyper-reactivity. Common Allergens are : Tree Pollens, Grass Pollens, Animal Dander, Indoor Moulds, Cockroaches, Other Insects, Animal Feathers, Fur, etc.

Allergic rhinitis, also called hay fever, is the group of uncomfortable symptoms that occur when your body is exposed to a specific allergen. An allergen is a typically harmless substance, such as grass or dust, which causes an allergic reaction. Pollen is the most common allergen for most people. Allergic Rhinitis Can Be Of Two Types :

  • Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis : Occurs in patients who develop allergies to substances which are present only in certain seasons in the year. Tree pollen & grass pollen commonly lead to SAR.
  • Perennial Allergic Rhinitis : Occurs when patients develop allergy to substances that are present throughout the year like dust and animal dander.

Even though allergic rhinitis is a non-fatal disorder, it can cause considerable distress, chronic congestion, sneezing and a continuous running nose.

33%children with one allergic parent will develop an allergy.

70% children with two allergic parents will develop an allergy.

Food Allergies are known to be serious.

1 in 13 kids suffer from food allergy.

Allergic rhinitis, also known as nasal allergy, is not considered to be life-threatening. However, it can drastically affect a patient’s quality of life. It has been documented that approximately 20% of the general population gets affected by allergic rhinitis. It is one of the common chronic complaints that influence health in long period of time. Therefore, early therapeutic help is necessary to avoid health consequences.

Homeopathy is an effective medical option that offers significant relief in patients affected by allergic rhinitis. It also effectively boosts patients’ immunity, which prevents them from getting succumbed to allergens. Benefits of homeopathy in seasonal allergic rhinitis have been documented in a double-blind study performed at Phoenix metropolitan area.

At Dr Manisha’s, thousands of patients with allergic rhinitis have been successfully treated and have been provided significant relief from this afflicting condition.

Acne

.Acne or pimples is a common skin condition frequently seen in young individuals during teenage and youth years. This occurs mainly due to the action of hormones on the oil glands in the skin. The draining ducts of the oil glands get blocked and hence they are not able to drain the oil secretion. The oil and cells inside the blocked gland form a perfect environment for the growth of Propionibacterium acnes (the organism responsible for acne). Thus, it results in the formation of pimples or acne.

Homeopathic Treatment of acne or pimples

Homeopathic medicines are able to root out the problem of pimples as Homeopathy recognises the various causative factors and take them into consideration while prescribing the right medicine. Even the psychological factors and stress are taken into account which are not at all recognized by the conventional system of medicine

Dr Manisha’s is strongly suggested for Acne problem.. It helps in the following ways:

·    Controls the tendency to have acne (often genetic, in severe cases)

·    Addresses underlying hormonal disturbance which gives one a proneness to have acne

·    Reduces excessive oiliness of skin

·    Reduces acne directly

·    Controls infection

·    Controls scar formation

·    Reduces hyperpignementation following acne

·    Controls tendency to scar formation following acne

Amenorrhea

Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation. If menstruation has not begun by the age of 16 years, known as primary amenorrhea, and if menstruation has taken place but subsequently ceases for a period of 6 months or longer, known as secondary amenorrhea.

Homeopathic treatment of amenorrhea

Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach

Back Ache

Back pain is a common problem that affects most people at some point in their life. It may be triggered by bad posture while sitting or standing, bending awkwardly, or lifting incorrectly. It’s not generally caused by a serious condition.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is an inflammation or swelling of the bronchial tubes (bronchi), the air passages between the nose and the lungs. Bronchitis is more specifically when the lining of the bronchial tubes becomes inflamed or infected.

Colitis

Colitis is inflammation of the inner lining of the colon. It may cause abdominal pain and diarrhea with or without blood. Fever may be present. There are numerous causes of colitis including infection, inflammatory bowel disease, ischemic, and microscopic colitis.

Constipation

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, constipation is one of the most common digestive problems in the U.S. More than four million Americans every year complain of frequent constipation. Frequent constipation is commonly defined as having bowel movements fewer than three times a week and with hard, dry stools.

Coughs

A Cough is a sudden and often repetitively occurring reflex which helps to clear the large breathing passages from secretions, irritants, foreign particles and microbes. The cough reflex consists of three phases: an inhalation, a forced exhalation against a closed glottis, and a violent release of air from the lungs following opening of the glottis, usually accompanied by a distinctive sound. Coughing is either voluntary or involuntary.

Cysts

Cysts are closed capsule or sac-like structures, typically filled with liquid, semisolid or gaseous material – very much like a blister. Cysts occur within tissue, and can affect any part of the body. They vary in size from microscopic to the size of some team-sport balls – large cysts can displace internal organs.

Depression

Depression is a real illness that impacts the brain. Anyone suffering from depression will tell you, it’s not imaginary or “all in your head.” Depression is more than just feeling “down.” It is a serious illness caused by changes in brain chemistry.

Dermatitis

Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin. Depending on the type of dermatitis, areas of skin may become red and itchy with some acute attacks causing crusty scales or blisters that ooze fluid.

Eczema

Eczema refers to a chronic inflammatory skin condition, characterized by dry skin, with patches that are red and intensely itchy. These patches of eczema may ooze, become scaly, crusted, or hardened. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, and the condition can negatively impact quality of life. Eczema can occur anywhere on the skin and is commonly found on the flexors (bends of the arms, backs of the knees).

Fibroadenoma of the breast

Fibroadenoma of the breast – this common benign neoplasm occurs most frequently in young women, usually within 20 years after puberty. It is somewhat more frequent and tends to occur at an earlier age in black women. Multiple tumors are found in 10-15% of patients. The typical Fibroadenoma is a round or ovoid, relatively movable, non tender mass 1-5 cm in diameter. It is usually discovered accidently. Clinical diagnosis in young patients is generally not difficult. Fibroadenoma generally does not occur after menopause but may occasionally develop after administration of hormones.

Bacterial Vaginosis

BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS Introduction Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is known by many terms, including nonspecific vaginitis, Gardnerealla vaginalis, bacterial vaginitis, Haemophilus vaginalis, Corynebacterium vaginalis, and anaerobic vaginosis. This condition is caused by an overgrowth of several species of vaginal organisms, which may be transmitted by sexual activity. Bacterial vaginosis is considered a sexually associated condition but not necessarily a sexually transmitted infection. Although Bacterial vaginosis does not usually cause complication on its own, it is considered to be a co-factor in the acquisition of other sexually transmitted.

Common complaints

1.       Vaginal discharge (thin, white, gray, or milky)

2.      Fishy vaginal odor

3.      Postcoital odor

Diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis

·         Clinical picture. The discharge is white (rarely gray), creamy, bubbly (rarely foamy).

·         pH value. With bacterial vaginosis, the pH is between 4.8 and 5.5 (pH strips from Merck, product No. 9542), whereas a normal lactobacillus flora is associated with a pH between 3.8 and 4.5, depending on lactobacilli numbers.

·         Amine test. The fishy odor associated with bacterial vaginosis is caused by amines produced by anaerobic bacteria. The odor is only noticeable when these bacteria are present in high numbers. Addition of one to two drops of 10% potassium hydroxide solution to the discharge on a cotton or microscopic slide intensifies the fishy odor.

 ·         Microscopy. Clue cells are visible in wet mounts and less clearly in gram-stained pre-parations. These are cells from the vaginal epithelium that are covered with a dense layer of small bacteria, most often Gardnerella vaginalis. The epithelial cells also be covered with other bacteria, for example, mobiluncus, fusobacteria, and cocci. They are especially easy to recognize in the wet mount after staining with 0.1% methylene blue solution. In addition to clue cells, a high count of small, morphologically distinguishable bacteria is also characteristic for bacterial vaginosis: for example, curved gram-negative bacteria like mobiluncus are easily identified in a wet mount by their spinning movements.

Boils

A boil is a skin infection that starts in a hair follicle or oil gland. Also referred to as a skin abscess, it is a localized infection deep in the skin. A boil generally starts as a reddened, tender area. Over time, the area becomes firm and hard. Eventually, the center of the abscess softens and becomes filled with infection-fighting white blood cells that the body sends via the bloodstream to eradicate the infection. This collection of white blood cells, bacteria, and proteins is known as pus. Finally, the pus “forms a head,” which can be surgically opened or spontaneously drain out through the surface of the skin.

Chicken Pox

Chickenpox is caused by the varicella-zoster virus which also causes shingles. Chickenpox is highly contagious and spreads by contact with someone with chicken pox. Fever, malaise, and a rash (red spots, blisters, and crusted lesions) are all symptoms and signs of chickenpox.

Diabetes

Diabetes is the condition in which the body does not properly process food for use as energy. Most of the food we eat is turned into glucose, or sugar, for our bodies to use for energy. The pancreas, an organ that lies near the stomach, makes a hormone called insulin to help glucose get into the cells of our bodies. When you have diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use its own insulin as well as it should. This causes sugars to build up in your blood. This is why many people refer to diabetes as “sugar.”

Obesity

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems. Body mass index (BMI), a measurement which compares weight and height, defines people as overweight (pre-obese) when their BMI is between 25 kg/m2 and 30 kg/m2, and obese when it is greater than 30 kg/m2.

What are the risks of being obese?

Obesity increases the likelihood of various diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes type 2, obstructive sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, certain types of cancer and also social/marital problems.

What causes obesity?

Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excessive dietary calories, lack of physical activity, and genetic predisposition, endocrinal disorders, certain medications or psychiatric illness. Evidence to support the view is that some obese people eat little yet gain weight due to a slow or limited metabolism ; on an average obese people have a greater energy expenditure than their thin counterparts due to the energy required to maintain an increased body mass.

How to treat Obesity?

The primary treatment for obesity is by dieting and physical exercise. These too require expert help and guidance for proper result. In case of failure or to supplement this, anti-obesity treatments may be taken to reduce appetite, inhibit fat absorption, increase metabolic process and promote fat loss. In severe cases, bariatric surgery is performed to reduce stomach volume and/or bowel length, leading to earlier satiation and reduced ability to absorb nutrients from food. Obesity is a leading preventable cause of death worldwide, with increasing prevalence in adults and children, and authorities view it as one of the most serious public health problems of the 21st century.
